I am a Cypress homeowner for the past 26 years where my wife and I have raised two children. Now that my children are away at college, I am in a position to run for City Council and give back to the community. I have been previously involved in Cypress as a founding member of Cypress Youth Baseball, assistant baseball coach, roller hockey coach, and as an appointee to the Environmental Commission. I am a current member of the Cypress Chamber of Commerce.
I am a second generation American whose maternal grandparents came to this country, without knowing the language, to seek a better life and escape from persecution. Like many of you, I have a distinct accent, albeit, from New York. I am no different from anyone else in this district. Consequently, I will not treat anyone any different regardless of their assigned district. One City. One City Council.
I am a small business owner, with 21 years of business experience, who believes in the importance of being fiscally responsible and financially sound.
As an attorney with 34 years of experience as both a counselor and litigator, I understand the importance of communication, the impact of words, and the art of advocacy tempered by negotiation and mediation to reach a meaningful result with economic efficiency. Membership on our city council is not unlike the practice of law or the participation in a decathlon. There are times to lead, times to rely on the pack, and times to reassess strategy mid-contest. All of which have been learned through my experiences as an NCAA Division 1 track athlete and attorney.
As your elected Council Member, I will work for the entirety of the city to enhance public safety and ensure we maintain our excellent infrastructure. I will advocate for strong schools and support a business-friendly environment to grow our local economy. Finally, I will work to sustain our top-notch parks, programs and facilities, while advocating for the creation of a dog park for Cypress residents to enjoy. I will work for everyone, regardless of district, to maintain and enhance the city we call home.
